From Our President
As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, I’m reminded how thankful I am for our quilting community. November is the perfect month to pause and appreciate the friendships, creativity, and encouragement we share through this guild. Whether it’s learning a new technique, finishing a UFO, or simply enjoying show-and-tell, every meeting reminds me how quilting stitches us together—one block, one story, one smile at a time.
This is also the season for cozy sewing days! Hard to believe we have seen our first snow! I hope you’re finding time to work on those holiday projects or maybe start something just for yourself. Don’t forget to bring your latest creations to share—seeing everyone’s work is always such an inspiration.
We will have an outstanding program this month with Heather Givens from Crimson Tate. Those of you who have heard Heather before know she never fails to inform and entertain. This will be followed by a workshop the following day for the Footnote Quilt. I’ve already pulled a fat quarter bundle from the closet and can’t wait.
We will wrap up the year with our Christmas party in December. It’s coming together very well and promises to be an evening of food, fellowship, and festive cheer. There might even be a surprise guest – you won’t want to miss it! The guild will provide the main course. If your last name starts with A-L, please bring a side or a salad. Those whose last name starts with M-Z please bring a dessert. We will have a Holiday Show and Tell of Christmas themed items.
As we look ahead to the end of the year, I want to thank all our volunteers who help make our guild run so smoothly. Your time and talents are what keep us thriving. Let’s continue to support one another, share generously, and celebrate the joy of quilting together.
Wishing you a November filled with gratitude, warmth, and plenty of fabric!
Happy Quilting,
Dana Sederoff

Volunteer Time
 Calling All Volunteers!
As this year comes to a close, it’s time to start planning for 2026 — and we need you!
Our guild runs on the creativity, energy, and teamwork of our members, and we have a few key roles to fill for the coming year:
Vice President (2026) – This person will serve as VP in 2026 and then step into the President’s role in 2027. It’s a great opportunity to help guide the guild and keep our quilting community strong and vibrant!
Secretary (2026) – Help keep our meetings organized and our records in order. If you’re detail-oriented and enjoy keeping things running smoothly, this role is perfect for you.
️ Raffle Quilt Ticket Sales Volunteer (2026) – We also need someone to help coordinate ticket sales for our beautiful 2026 Raffle Quilt. This is a fun way to meet members and share our guild’s work with the community.
If you’re interested or would like to learn more about any of these roles, please reach out to Sandy Beard or talk to a board member at the next meeting.

A few of last month's completions:
Cheer
Rhonda Nelson
If you know of any Scrapbasket member needing a little cheer, please let Rhonda Nelson know. She will be happy to send a card from all of us. Thank you.
Donation Quilts
Cindi Johnson
If anyone has Christmas stockings to donate please bring them to the November meeting. This time of year would be a great time to try making a quilted hug to donate! Beautiful way to keep nursing home or hospice patients warm. Also, I have kept post it notes with the donation bucket. If you have donated anything this year make sure I have your name! I was unable to make it to the October meeting as it was a really crazy month for my family. I hope to have some more donated projects to deliver before the end of the year, but I know that the holidays are so busy for everyone. Make sure you are taking some time to relax and make something just for you!

Quilts of Valor
A big thank you to all who participated in making QOV blocks this year, we collected enough for three quilts! And thank you to those who have volunteered time to quilt, bind or make entire quilts!
If you still have any block kits at home, we can always use them in other projects, so please return them when you can.
Current volunteer opportunities:
Sewing the log cabin blocks into a quilt top: Would one of the beelets be willing to take some time during a sew day to get this done? Please think about it and let us know.
Long-arm quilters! We have 2 quilts ready for quilting. Please let us know if you could volunteer your services to help with this. We can purchase thread for your use with funds from our budget.
We are in search of any remaining block kits from sometime last year for a large scrappy star. The completed 18-1/2” block looks something like the picture below. Kindly check if you have a kit like this in your sewing room and bring it to the next meeting, completed or not…no judgement!
We had the pleasure of attending the QOV ceremony where Libby Holmes presented the quilt made by Linda Paulson to its recipient, and we obtained permission to share this picture of the recipient and his family with all of you.
Our Quilts of Valor group will be holding off on any new projects for the rest of the year due to the holidays.
Your QOV co-chairs are:
Mary DeRemer deremer1048@gmail.com (317) 272-5206
Kathy Walker kjwalker1918@gmail.com (317) 935-7302
Information is also available at the QOV website: https://www.qovf.org/.
Libby Holmes, a long time Quilts of Valor volunteer, recognized Susan Eaton for her many years of volunteerism to the QOV organization through our guild. She was presented with a certificate and a quilted wall hanging.
President's Block
It's getting to the close of the year. It's time to get our blocks ready for our President. She has chosen a House block. Below are the instructions. Please complete a block, sign it on the front of the block, and bring it by the December meeting in which we can present the blocks to her. I will be collecting the blocks before the meetings.
