Scrap Basket Quilt Guild  

October 21, 2025 

 

Dana Sederoff called the meeting to order at 7:03 pm with forty-two members and one guest present. For the upcoming Christmas party, those with last names beginning with A through L should bring a side dish or salad. Those with last names beginning with M through Z should bring a dessert. 

Sandy Beard, Vice President 

  • Volunteers are needed for 2026 officers and committees. A vice president and program person is still needed. Please contact Sandy if you are interested. 

  • The pieced 2026 raffle quilt was displayed. Ideas for borders are needed. 

  • Linda Cook will oversee the Block of the Month program for next year. She offered three examples of quilts to choose from. The group will vote at the next meeting. 

There was no treasurer’s report. 

There was no donation quilt report. 

There was no Block of the Month report. 

Kathy Walker, Quilts of Valor 

  • Kathy displayed a completed quilt. Members were reminded to bring in completed blocks. There are no new block kits available at this time, but they will be available next year. 

  • Libby Holmes presented a certificate and wall hanging to Susan Eaton to thank her for her service to the Quilts of Valor program. 

Dana Sederoff, fundraising 

  • The income from the recent Bow Wow Bash was $300. Other craft shows are full or too expensive to participate.  

  • After discussion, it was decided that the leftover craft items will be available before the next meeting. Members may retrieve their items or purchase items from other members. Donating items to senior centers and nursing homes for Bingo prizes was also discussed. 

 

 

Linda Paulson, Refreshments 

  • Thanks to those who provided refreshments tonight. 

  • The Sacred Threads quilt show will be October 30 through November 9 at the Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ at 603 New Jersey Street in Indianapolis.  

There was no report regarding the newsletter. 

Block of the Month 

  • This month’s theme was Halloween and reverse applique.  

  • Two members showed their blocks. 

Show and Tell 

  • Several members participated in show and tell. 

Rhonda Nelson, Cheer 

  • Door prizes were awarded. 

Kristi Slinkard, Programs 

  • Kristi circulated a clip board for next month’s workshop. The workshop will be November 19 with Heather Givans and her foot note quilt. 

  • Kristi introduced the evening’s speaker, Claudia Lash. 

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
