Scrapbasket Quilt Guild 9/16/2025

Janet Showtwell won nine ribbons at the Indiana State Fair.
The Quilter’s Guild of Indianapolis Showcase will be Friday, Sept 19 from 10-6 and on Saturday,
Sept 20, from 10-4. Admission is $10 per person and parking is $10 per car. Janet’s quilts will
be on display.
Amanda Castor- Friend of the guild- contacted Dana Sederoff and donated a bolt of red, white
and blue fabric to be used for QOV projects. Dana presented the bolt to the committee.
Dana stated that we have a plan for this year’s Christmas party. We will be keeping it simple.
The guild will purchase the meat and everyone else is asked to bring a pitch-in item to share.
Also please bring a “Christmas themed” item/ project for Show-N-Tell. Thanks to Janet Shotwell
for the idea. Also bring your own beverage for the evening.
Reminder that officers and committee volunteers are needed for next year. Please see Sandy
Beard if you are interested.
BOM/ Challenge- Two people shared their completed works. Beth Archer stated we will have a
“showcase” at the end of the year for completed items.
QOV- There is a finished quilt that needs binding to be completed. Log Cabin blocks need to be
turned in so that another quilt can be completed.
Raffle Quilt- Mary Lynne Mereda’s Beelet has donated a quilt kit which will be used for our
Raffle quilt for 2026.
Donations- Cindi Johnson talked about the Anchors of Love program. Details in the last
newsletter.
Refreshments- Thanks to Beth Archer and Susan Cinkoske for the goodies tonight.
We will be participating in the Bow Wow Bash at the Washington Park in Avon on Sunday, Sept
28th from noon to 5 p.m. We have a small area on which to sell and lots of variety of items.
Thanks to everyone for a great auction. We made $2100 this year.
