Scrap Basket Quilt Guild

Dana Sederoff called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm with forty-one members and two

guests present. Clipboards were circulated for next month’s workshop, refreshments,

and a membership list to verify members’ information.

Kristi Slinkard, Programs

 Kristi introduced the evening’s speaker, Erin Grogan. Erin’s program was titled

“Finding Your Quilty Identity and Exploring Color Theory.” She is offering a 20%

discount on patterns with the code SCRAPBASKET.

 Next month’s program will be Katherine Redmon. There will also be a workshop on

English Paper Piecing.

Jenna Chamberlain

 No changes currently.

Cindy Johnson, Donation Quilts

 Cindy was unable to be present, but members were encouraged to continue to

make donation quilts.

Beth Archer

 This month’s challenge is Race and/or Flowers with fabric manipulation.

 There will be a showcase of the BOM/challenge quilts in December.

Susan Eaton, QOV

 Due to health challenges, Susan is no longer able to be chairperson of this

committee, volunteers to do this are needed.

 Check the Quilts of Valor website for patterns and desired quilt dimensions.

Dana Sederoff, fundraising

 Please continue to make things to sell at upcoming craft shows. The first will be

the “Bow Wow Bash” on September 25 at the Misty Eyes Animal Rescue.

 It was suggested that members have a chance to purchase items before the craft

shows. There may be a table set up at monthly meetings.

Linda Paulson, Refreshments

 Thanks to those who provided refreshments tonight.

 Please sign up to provide refreshments for future meetings.

Amy Gilmore, Staycation

 The staycation will be May 31 at Trailside Church.

 Participants will be given a kit for an item to be completed for the craft shows.

 Please bring a dish to share, snacks, and drinks. The guild will provide paper

products.

From the floor

 Members should be thinking about a retreat in January or February 2026 at one

of the state parks.

 We are still collecting squares for the state fair. Fabric strips (2.5 inches) can also

be used for weaving.

 Threads of Time in Danville, Illinois is selling the fabric stash of one of their

customers who recently passed away.

Show and Tell

 Several members participated in show and tell.

 Door prizes awarded.
