Scrapbasket Quilt Guild

Dana Sederoff called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. with forty-seven members and

two guests present.

Each member should have a nametag. New members have three months to make

a name tag.

Sandy Beard, vice president

Raffle quilt- Volunteers are needed to help with Raffle Quilt for 2026. A sign-up

sheet was circulated.

One of the bee-lets has a quilt kit, which could be used for a raffle quilt if others

would like to put borders or applique on it.

Beth Archer, Block of the Month/Challenge

This month’s BOM/challenge was summer picnic and paper piecing.

Two samples were shown.

The big reveal with all the year’s blocks will be in December.

Cindy Johnson, Donation quilts

There is a box near the entrance for completed quilt tops.

There is also a box containing donated fabric that may be used to make quilt tops.

Susan Eaton- Quilts of Valor

A new chairperson is needed. Susan will help anyone willing to ease into the

position.

There is a quilt of valor kit available for anyone wanting to put it together.

A recently donated wide back will be available.

Dana Sederoff, Fundraising

We will have a booth at Bow Wow Bash on September 28 at Washington Park.

Members should make something that will sell for twenty dollars or less.

Several doggie poo bag holders were made at staycation.

Several items made by members were shown, including bags, iPad cover, pencil

wraps, zippered bags made from candy bags, teacher gift mason jar, table

runners,

cross body bags, jar grippers/openers, fabric book, and table toppers.

Linda Paulson, Refreshments

Linda thanked those who provided the evening’s refreshments.

Staycation was a success.

Lois Courtney, Newsletter

Please let Lois know if you have any old style short straight pins.

We have seventy paid members.

We have approximately $8000 in our account.

T-shirts and sweatshirts may be ordered on the website.

There will be a fabric de-stashing event from 9:00 to 5:00 on June 21 at 11218

Our annual auction will be in August. Bid sheets will be available next month.

Accepting donations for the board basket.

Bee-lets hopefully will also provide baskets.

Show and Tell

Several members presented items.

The guest prize and show and tell prize were awarded.

Kristi Slinkard, Programs

A sign-up sheet was circulated for the Sara Thomas free motion quilting workshop

on July 17.

Cost will be $40 for members and $75 for non-members.

The event will take place at Trailside Church.

From the floor

Sometime between now and the end of July, there will be a workday to assemble

log cabin block kits for the Quilts of Valor program.

Kristi Slinkard, Programs

Kristi introduced the evening’s speaker, Catherine Redford. Catherine’s presentation

was titled, “Lessons Learned While Quilting.”

The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 pm.
