Scrapbasket Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes
July 18, 2023
Meeting called to order at 7:02 p.m. by Angie Hubbell, Vice-President
47 present including 1 new member and 2 visitors
Angie Hubbell: Welcome
Bobbie Brinson/Mary DeRemer: Retreat
*This year’s retreat will be held at McCormick’s Creek State Park, September 15-17, 2023
*The Retreat will be opened to members of other guilds if the last rooms are not spoken for by
Scrapbasket Members. Balance is due by August 1, 2023.
Carol Evans/Linda Auberry: Staycation
*Rooms at The Well are available the last two weekends in September 2023.
*Proposal was made to move the Staycation to a different month considering the Retreat is also
scheduled for September.
Heather Kopeschka: Fundraising
*Members selling multiples of 24 tickets may pick up a Fat Quarter of fabric from Heather.
*Volunteers are needed for upcoming events. Please stay tuned.
*YTD raised $1843.00
Jenna Chamberlain/Amy Gilmore: Auction
*August meeting will begin at 6:00pm for the Auction. 5:30 set up
*Donation slips were passed around to members.
*Cash/check will be accepted.
*Ice cream will be provided.
Beth Konz/Kim VanBuskirk: Block of the Month
*July blocks were displayed. 7 participants
*August and September blocks were previewed.
*Instructions for all blocks are published on the Scrapbasket website.
Linda Auberry/Tammie Earnest: Challenge
*Show & Tell of UFOs with the brightest fabrics

*8 participants. Door prize awarded.
*Encouraged members to prepare UFO for August – an UFO that is not a quilt. Show and Tell will take
place at the September meeting only if time permits.
Jenna Chamberlin: Treasurer
*Current balance $19,058.01
Eugenia Fernandez: Programs
*September’s workshop will be about Scrap Quilts. Watch newsletter for details.
Susan Cinkoske: Donation
*Volunteers needed to longarm projects.
*Fabric is available for making donation quilts. for a few binding projects
*Bingo prizes are needed for the nursing home. Donate such items as bags, baskets, wallhangings,
knick-knacks, etc.
*Donations of placemats and napkins are needed for the Senior Center.
*54 quilts have been donated YTD for 2023
*October will be pillowcase month. Pillowcases are needed for children and teens.
Susan Eaton: Quilts of Valor
*Two more quilts have been completed and were displayed.
