Scrapbasket Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes
June 20, 2023
Meeting called to order at 7:01 p.m. by Beth Archer, President
53 present including 2 visitors
Beth Archer: Welcome
Jenna Chamberlain/Amy Gilmore: Auction
*August meeting will begin at 6:00pm for the Auction
*Slips will be available at the July meeting
Beth Konz/Kim VanBuskirk: Block of the Month
*Kim displayed the June and July blocks
*Members who completed the first six blocks received a special prize
Linda Auberry/Tammie Earnest: Challenge
*Show & Tell of UFOs with the fewest number of colors
*Door prize awarded
*Encouraged members to prepare UFO for July – an UFO with brightest fabrics
Susan Cinkoske: Donation
*Volunteers requested for a few binding projects
*Requested donations of bibs and burp rags
*42 quilts have been donated YTD for 2023
Susan Eaton: Quilts of Valor
*Three more quilts have been completed
*Two quilts made with split rail blocks were displayed
*Requested volunteers to do binding and longarm quilting

*Members encouraged to continue selling raffle tickets

Bobbie Brinson/Mary DeRemer: Retreat
*This year’s retreat will be held at McCormick’s Creek State Park, September 15-17, 2023
*10 rooms have been reserved, 3 more are available.
*The classroom is available from 9 am Friday to 12p Sunday.
Carol Evans/Linda Auberry: Staycation
*Checking on room availability for the end of September

*Current balance $17,867.01
*3 new members
*Members not wearing nametags are asked to donate money to “The Pig.” All money collected will be
donated to The Well for allowing us to meet in their facility.
