Scrapbasket Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes
January 17, 2023
Attendees: 43 Members, 7 Visitors
Meeting called to order at 7:00pm by Beth Archer, President
Beth Archer: Welcome
*This year’s goal is for each member to know the first name of every other member by the end
of the year.
*Motion made by Kim VanBuskirk to approve Angie Hubbell as the Guild’s 2023 Vice President.
Seconded by Bonnie Miller. Motion passed by majority vote.
*Thank you to Heather Kopeschka for serving as the 2022 Scrapbasket Guild President. Flying
Geese blocks made by Guild members were presented to Heather.
*Introduction of visitors.
Jenna Chamberlain: Treasurer’s Report
*Beginning Balance January 2023 $17,948.89
*Projected 2023 Budget approximately $10,000.00
*Gaming laws changed as of 2019 and the Guild no longer needs to maintain two separate bank
accounts. Motion made by Eugenia Fernandez to close one of the bank accounts. Seconded by Kim
VanBuskirk. Motion passed by majority vote.
*Motion made by Kim VanBuskirk to remove Barbara Tinkham and Beth Konz from checking
account and to add Beth Archer and Angie Hubbell to the checking account. Seconded by Bonnie Miller.
Motion passed by majority vote.
Amy Gilmore/Jenna Chamberlain: Auction
*Will be held in August
Beth Konz/Kim VanBuskirk: Block of the Month
*Two versions of the quilt are available – pieced and applique
*Finished January blocks presented
*Michael at Not Your Average Quilter Store is offering the quilt kit for $160 for members only.
*Patterns for each month are available in the Members Only section of the website.

Susan Cinkoske: Donation quilts
*2022 end of year prize drawing – Janet Shotwell
*Asked members to donate small items for the monthly door prize drawing
*A couple quilts ready to be longarm quilted. Asked for volunteers.
*February Birthday Bash – Bring a decorated birthday bag/box with fabric included.
Bags will be exchanged and each recipient is to make a donation quilt from the contents.
Susan Eaton: Quilts of Valor
*Presented two completed quilts
*A couple of quilt tops are ready to be longarm quilted. Asked for volunteers.
*Asked for volunteers to help print QOV quilt patterns and block patterns.
Beth Archer: Raffle Quilt Committee
*Committee name has changed to Fundraising and will incorporate all of the Guild’s fundraising
efforts.
*Heather Kopeschka will chair this committee.
*Encouraged members to volunteer at the Indiana Heritage Quilt Show
Retreat: No updates.
Staycation: No updates.

*Mini Mid-Mod Quilts Workshop Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at noon via Zoom
*March – Sheila Frampton Cooper. March 22, 2023 Workshop. Signup going around.
