New Facility
Angie Hubbell welcomed members to our new meeting facility. Doors will be open at 6:00 and the inside doors will relock at 7:15.
Member duties
Members were asked to email a photo to Jenna for our directory.
President’s blocks will continue to be collected until next month.
Jenna Chamberlain cautioned she found a post on the website wanting to give away a Bernina sewing machine. She realized this was a scam, so be aware.
Donation quilts
Cindi Johnson discussed the agencies to which we send donation quilts (Nursing Homes, Retirement Homes, Foster kids, Hospitals). If you would like to make only the quilt top, there are agencies that will finish the quilt. They will also accept fabric and quilt kit donations. The most useful sizes are baby size, lap size, throw size, or twin size. Quilts donations should be made with sturdy fabric and quilting should be with two inch density.
BOM and Challenge Quilt
Beth Archer was not here tonight but will have more information next month about the BOM and challenge quilt.
QOV
Susan Eaton was not here tonight but has information in the newsletter about the Quilts of Valor.
Refreshments
Linda Paulson circulated a sign-up sheet for the refreshments for 2025.
Fundraising
Angie Hubbell discussed plans to re-organize fundraising efforts and volunteers are needed. We plan to start the raffle quilt for 2026 this year. It was suggested that all members participate and make a block for it. We are also looking into participating in Calvary’s craft show in the fall. We could sell items donated by members and have a way to increase membership and revenue.
Retreat
There will be no overnight retreat this year.
Cheer
If you know of anyone in the guild with an illness or in need of cheer, please let Rhona Nelson know.
